Minerva jumped and spun around. The manuver made her loose her balance and I quickly caught her arm to steady her.

Her face was hidden in the night, but I could see the lines of blood dripping from her face. The cross I had given her for protection until I could formally make her a Hunter was missing.

"What happened?"

"I..." i didnt want to tell him my twin sister was a vampire... "... found a vamp and i tried to 'kill' her... the second time i got a pipe through her heart. i know i didnt kill her but i got away." all mad again, i spun out of him arms and stalked off.

he didn't follow me, but i could feel him watching me from the street corner.

I saw the sun coming up over the horizon and freaked.

I dashed home, and tried to clean myself up for school the next day..

ZANE'S POV

I hesitated. She obviously didn't want me to, but as her guardian, it was required that I keep her under my wing. And it was even more obvious that she needed help.

I went down the dark street and entered the apartment complex. I found her room on the second floor, and i knocked.

"Min?" I asked.

I walked downstaris and put my hands on my hips.

"Zane, when i walked off, it doesnt mean that i want u to come into my house. i have to get ready for school neway."

ZANES POV

I cleared my throat. "Minerva, I am supposed to find out if you are really ready to become a Hunter. I've decided you are. Think about this, Minerva. It's a permanent choice, and I don't want you to be unhappy. If you want to go through with it, come to me."

I turned and walked up the stairs to my apartment. She needed time to think.

I watched Zane leave..
and then truged upstairs to change out of my destroyed clothes.

i thought about what zane said... and as soon as i decided i was going to be a Hunter, my brain went all foggy and i collasped on my bed, my head pulsing from a killer migrane...

'i not going 2 school 2day' i thought.. i pulld on some soft PJ pants and took a nap.

the kill wasnt enough for me anymore. i was still unsatisfied. the last one was tastey, yes. but far to easy. i needed someone who would fight back. not some horny teenager.

the light from the resturant up ahead gave me an idea. i studied the number of people there. there were a total of three. no one noticed me as i entered and closed the old door behind me. no one noticed me when i crushed the door handle with my hand so that it wouldn't open the door. no one noticed when i used my ability to shut off the only security camera.

yet everyone saw me as i went up to the fat businessman and snapped his neck. as he fell to the floor, the server screamed and made a mad dash for the door. i grabbed her and tossed her to the floor. while she begged for mercy i placed one foot on her skull and stomped as hard as i could. it made a satifying crunch. i made sure not much blood spilled out.

the cook just stared.

"i know what you are, lilith." he said at a whisper.
"you know who i am?" i said as i stepped over the server's lifeless body.
"yes. " he said as i leaped over the bar and sank my teeth into his wrist. it tasted heavenly.

right as my lips touched his skin the flashing blue lights showed through the window.

"when did you call them?" i whispered.
"just before you came in."
"what are you? psychic?" i said. then i grabbed him and the girl and ran through the window.

i woke up from my nap to another vision.

Damnit. i jumped up out of bed and grabbed my coat and reached in the pocket for my gun. it wasnt there. only then did i remember that dear sister had nocked it from my hands. i grabbed my tazer and ran out the door.

the entails of my coat spread out behind me like wings as i ran to where my vision had taken place.

blue strobe lights came into view. I tried to ignore them as i ran to the side door. unlocked but barred.

i crept inside and saw the glass of the window and only two dead bodies. she had ran. i tried to leave but the smell of blood hit me like a wave. I snarled and ran as fast as i could away from that place.

i stopped under a large oak in the park.

"You are different from the rest, human." came a voice from the branches

she looked up at me in suprise. she held up a tazer and fired. i felt the electric shocks go through my body. it felt wonderful.

"you of all people should know that doesn't work on me." i said.
"where is he?" she asked.
"i have him still. don't worry. he won't be a snack. he's too special. as are you."
"what are you getting at?"
"as you know, when you turn every sense you have is heightened. i want your power to evolve. to heighten."
"no."
"i figured you say that. you didn't seem like the vampire loving kind of person. of course, with your sister all against you and everything, i can see why."
"shut up."
"i just can't wait for the moment when you finally kill her. having to see the last bit of light leave her eyes...."
"shut up."
"hearing her cry out in pain at what you have done."
"SHUT UP!" she said, shooting me with the tazer again.

the shocks surged through my body. it was heavenly!

"thank you, minerva. that was electrifying." i whispered just enough so that she could hear me. then i was gone.

in a few minutes i had made it back to the old storage center. i found the garage number and told the electric door to open. right as it did, a cry errupted into the night. i dashed across the garage and put my finger to his lips.

"its almost finished, liam." i said, coaking him. he had his fangs now. he has about a minute to go before he would become like me.
"lilith?" he barely got out.
"yes?"
"why?"
"because you weren't meant for that life. and you knew it. you had powers. i know you saw me coming there. and if you didn't want this life you would have killed me the second i walked through the door. you have 20 seconds."

I dashed after her.. she knew my sister. i wanted answers.

my sister had left me and my parents when i was only 10.

3 years later she comes back and kills mom and dad. and then leaves agian.

i saw a door open..

she had gone to an old storage center..

i ran and got through the door before it closed and the scent of blood hit me again... i doubled up on the floor, my head pounding and my vision swimming...

i struggled to get up. leaning against a wall i tried to get out of there...

my whole body felt like it was going to snap. i groned, and then realized my mistake.

it was finished.
"well?" liam asked.
"its perfect." i replied, observing him. he was meant for this life.

suddenly he tensed up. his head snapped to the left, just at the door.

"what is it?" i asked.
"get behind me." he warned.
"h*ll no." i said and lightly shoved him to make room for myself. "now what is it?"
"we seem to have a visitor."
"get behind me, liam."
"why?" he asked, looking either worried or amused.
"i want her to shock me again"

I drew my tazer from my pocket and loaded it with another cartridge.

I had placed a rag over my nose and mouth and was trying not to breathe.

i sidled to the opening.

"Theres no need to hide. i know your here." that erie voice called.

"Then you can tell me about my sister. Did you make her this way?!" i yelled.

"Yes. and she is grateful. she gave you the chance to become one of us. And you will be soon enough. you cannot fight fate."

I can try my damn well hardest: i thought

I ran out from the corner and tazered her with the gun.

"Ahhh...." she said.

i dropped the gun realizing that it was only making her stronger.

I turnd to run, but another vampire was behind me.

and unfortunally, newly turnd.

"Crap." i said.

i tried to dodge him but he caught me by the throat

i coughed...

"oh no. we dont want to be doing that now Liam. i get to do that." she smiled

Liam dropped me with a sickining thud.

my head banged against the floor and warm blood gushed from the wound.

both vampires tensed up.

i wasnt cohernent enough to comprehend anything other than pain.

"i know, lilith. im trying to control myself." he replied.
"SHE WASN'T MEANT FOR THIS!!!" minerva screamed. her eyes filling with tears of rage.
"oh but she was. and so are you. your sister even knew that. your halfway to becoming a vampire already." i said.
"lilith," liam warned, his fists tightening.
"just a minute longer, honey." i said.

i stepped over her and lightly touched her head. i brought my fingers to my lips. the smell was intoxicating. i licked my fingers and smiled.

"minerva, minerva, minerva. you do not even know how powerful you are. how many abilities you have locked away."
"what are you talking about?" she asked, wincing.
"you have many more skills just waiting to be recovered. all you have to do is ask..."
"lilith..." liam said, placing his hand on my sholder.
"i know i know, liam. justa few more seconds then she will be one of us..."
"no, lilith. minerva's sister is right outside the door. she will be bursting in here in 23 seconds." liam said.

ZANES POV

I saw Minerva leave her apartment. Something was wrong. I pulled the case out from under the floorboard and opened it. I tapped the needle and pushed the tip into my arm. Not drugs. Not steriods, but close. Instead of the fake crap that always backfires later, these were given to Hunters so they could match the ability of their prey. I waited a few seconds until the shock of the chemicals calmed down, then i ran after her.

"... in 23 seconds" I heard one of those demons say. They thought it was a vampire. I checked the vial of black liquid hanging around my neck. I hadn't been able to kill the woman, but the blood would give me her essance- their powers wouldn't register a hunter- they would sense the vampire instead.

I listened at the door for just a second. Lilith. I cursed silently and pulled a blue gun out of my jacket. I pressed some of the runes on the key pad, and the gun silently changed settings. I took out a black handgun as well.

I threw the door open and shot the man in the chest and the female in the leg before either of them could react.

The man would be out for a few minutes because of the spell on the bullets.

Lilith had fallen to the ground, grasping her ankle and screaming from the jolt. She hissed at me, and I pointed the gun at her chest.

The skin on her ankle wasn't broken, and there was no blood. However, there was water.....

"Lilith, Lilith, Lilith," I said. "Didn't you ever wonder why they say you shouldn't leave the hairdryer next to the bathtub?"

i tried to get up but it was too much. i sank slowly back to the floor.

"i see your *grunt* alligence seems to have turned....not so loyal to your creator, huh?" i winced.
